The Saint Andrew’s Episcopal Church Choir includes a combination of parishioners and professional musicians under the direction of Michael Burroughs, Director of Music and Organist/Pianist. This choir sings weekly during the 10am Choral Eucharist service, which offers a wide range of new music every week. The repertoire features congregational hymns led by the choir, as well as anthems that may be gospel, spiritual, contemporary, or classical, in accordance with the season and church calendar.
Regular rehearsals are held on Sundays both before and after the 10am service, requiring a three-and a-half-hour commitment, from 9am to 12:30pm. The group continues during the summer, as well. There are also a few additional rehearsals throughout the year, as needed, and occasional performances, such as an Evensong, or for special events. Sight-reading is part of learning the new material, and having a musical background is very helpful. If you are interested in joining the choir, please see Michael Burroughs or a choir member after a service, or contact Michael through the office at .
