Pastoral Care Ministries provide support for the practical and spiritual needs of members of Saint Andrew’s community and beyond, with each group dedicated to helping others. If you’re interested in more information or would like to volunteer, please contact us.
Luke Koinon Group for Prayer Concerns
These parishioners don’t meet in person or online but individually pray the intercessions of the parish, as well as those outside of the parish, after receiving the prayers online. They also pray for healing for ourselves and others, for special concerns and for our thanksgiving.
Order of Saint Luke
The International Order of St. Luke the Physician (OSL) is an ecumenical religious organization comprised of clergy, health professionals and lay people. Its worldwide members believe healing is an essential part of the teaching and practice of Jesus Christ, based on faith, prayer and service, and that Jesus heals today as He did when he walked the earth centuries ago. They also believe that Christian healing and competent medical care are not adverse but complementary. They hold online meetings on the second Wednesday of every month at 7pm, which are open to everyone.

Parish Care
Kindness and support are the hallmarks of Parish Care. If parishioners are ill, have an emergency, need assistance with their daily living, or would like additional prayers, a team of lay ministers help to organize whatever is needed. They can set up meal delivery programs, facilitate hospital visits with clergy or team members, and also find parishioners rides for essential things, like doctor’s appointments. Additionally, they will reach out to other ministries for a range of care and spiritual support, from sending cards to arranging home visits.
Stephen Ministry
Stephen Ministers are congregation members trained to offer quality, confidential care to people who are hurting, whether they are managing a life crisis or just going through a hard time or transition. Although they are not counselors or therapists, they offer compassionate listening and emotional support during one-on-one meetings. Sometimes you just need someone to talk to.
Stepping Stones
This ministry is designed to support individuals in Santa Clara County who are currently incarcerated, in reentry, or navigating recovery. It offers worship, Bible study and pastoral care inside and outside of jails to help people make transitions back into the community safely and successfully. There are different ways to get involved, like writing holiday cards or becoming a trained worship leader or jail chaplain. Worship is offered online on Sundays at 8am.
