Grants in 2002
March 2002
$2,500 to Camp Saint Andrew's to fund "half-camperships" for
12 campers. Camp Saint Andrew ís is a week-long, non-denominational Christian summer camp for children aged 8 to 14.
Their mission is to establish and confirm a tradition of Christian fellowship and summer fun, provide a period for
spiritual awareness of the wonders of creation and an experience of Christian community among a diversity of young people and leaders.
Camp Saint Andrewís prides itself on a superb recreational and fun loving environment, an experienced, dedicated staff and an atmosphere for
spiritual growth. Their Sierra Pinecrest facility offers many activities, including archery, sports & games, arts & crafts, swimming, fishing, hiking &
nature, music and campfire.
April 2002
$1,000 to Friends Outside to help fund a summer family camp at Sandborn Park. In its
second year, the family camp is a 4-day weekend for 16 children and 12 adults
held in July. Friends Outside is a non-profit organization assisting families, prisoners, and ex-prisoners with the
immediate and long-term effects of incarceration and acting as a bridge between those served,
the community, and the criminal justice system.
June 2002
$1,000 to Today's Youth Matters; TYM offers six 5-day summer
camping sessions for at-risk children 8 - 12 years old at our camp near
Pescadero, CA. Few of these children
would be able to attend summer camp if an organization such as TYM did not
provide this service. The camp provides
such activities as swimming, crafts, cooking over an open fire, hikes,
baseball, volleyball, and a high-adventure ropes course. The Opportunity Fund grant of $1000 will fund one teepee of
six children for one week, and will include food, utensils, craft materials,
transportation and other expenses associated with the childrenís experience at
camp.
July 2002
Up to $500 to purchase lice control and eradication products for Family Place, an InnVision Multi-Service Center. Family Place provides education and support for 35 women and their pre-school age children. Adult classes include ESL, Parenting, Nutrition, Life Skills, and Computer Training. Children are cared for in a fully equipped Child Development Center.
October 2002
$5,000 to Hospice of the Valley, the oldest, non-profit, in-home hospice care agency serving Santa Clara County. Its mission is to provide the highest quality professional services to the extent that resources will allows to meet the educational, physical, emotional, environmental and spiritual needs of those individuals living in Santa Clara County who have a terminal illness, who are caregivers of a terminally ill patient, who are survivors of a deceased love one or who have an interest in hospice care. All of their programs are provided to those in need, regardless of their ability to pay.

$1,750 to Camp Saint Andrew's for camper scholarships
$1,000 to STAR House for household items. STAR House is a residential program for teenage boys and girls who are in the dependency court system after being removed from the homes for reasons of abuse or neglect.
April 2001
$10,000 to Our Daily Bread, assist with funding for building a kitchen; Our Daily Bread is a feeding program based at Saint Thomas' Episcopal Church, Sunnyvale, serving meals to seniors and others in the community.
May 2001
$500 to Saratoga Adult Center; this non-profit resource center promotes optimal quality health care for the elderly, and offers respite for the care-givers. Seniors come from the entire community to the Center to enjoy a break and good company.
August 2001
$150 to STAR House.
September 2001
$1,000 to the Red Cross for September 11 aid and relief.
November 2001
$4,000 to STAR House to provide furnishings.
